Last week at the WMC in Barcelona, Sony Ericsson has announced its highly anticipated new Android smartphone – Xperia PLAY. Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY will be the first PlayStation certified smartphone, and will run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. In addition to that, it will provide access to the PlayStation content using PlayStation Suite. This software is currently being developed by Sony Computer Entertainment, and will be released by the end of 2011 calendar year.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 announced at WMC 2011

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 was announced earlier today at the World Mobile Congress. Unlike the first Galaxy Tab, the new version runs on Android 3.0 Honeycomb. A few notes on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 hardware. The back cover has some textured “dimples” or grip rivets that make it easier to hold. The whole device appears to have been made to be used primarily in landscape orientation, as both the 8-megapixel back camera and the 2-megapixel front-facing camera are in the middle of the device. I’m sure Samsung has a good reason for this.
