Android Phones and Applications

Although the official word states otherwise, video evidence of a yet unreleased white iPhone4 is in distribution in the UK well before any are available in the US.  The white iPhone4 models in question have since disappeared and have no record of being sold or offered.  Those who were waiting in line and in queue for the devices on the day of the launch did not see the phones which were of white coloration once they were gone.  This leads people to believe that reports from Apple are simply trying to cover up the slip of the white models.

Amazon released a special delux version of their e-reader device known as the Kindle, which is now readily available on their website. The Amazon Kindle DX is now offered at a price of US$379 which is amazingly cheap for what it has in store . The price is below US$400 in efforts to compete with competitors as well as the other Amazon Kindle devices which have experienced price cuts in recent weeks. The Kindle DX has many new features which make it fairly desirable for those who wish to stay in line with dedicated e-reader devices.

Today I want to celebrate the first major milestone (at least from my perspective) of this blog.

Thanks to all readers and visitors.

Few sources on the Internet are stating that Google is perhaps attempting to create a new social network that will be able to challenge existing ones like Facebook.  Key players in social networking and media such as Digg founder Kevin Rose are saying that it is a definite possibility and might happen soon.  Google is known for their attempts to jump the social networking traing in the past with services such as Google Buzz, which was supposed to be a competitor against Twitter.

First information about the new, probably the third version of the Android operating system started circulating the web last week. It is believed that the developers are likely to stick with the existing naming convention, and the new version will be called Android Gingerbread.

The sales figures for the iPhone4 have been released with over 1.5 million sales on the first day. A total of 600,000 of the phones were pre-ordered in the United States. 100,000 of the phones were sold at the Apple stores on the day of release and 50,000 of them were released into Best Buy stores the same day. The total number of units sold in the US (750,000) was then matched by the sales and pre-sales figures in the UK for a total of over 1.5 million units moved.
