Sony Ericsson Xperia 10 – Some News About Upcoming Updates

Let’s start with the good news. Sony Ericsson UK announced on their official Twitter feed that Xperia 10 update to Android version 2.1 will be released earlier than expected, or rather before the end of September this year. Earlier update was expected in “late 2010″.

This is certainly good news for all Xperia owners, not only in England, but worldwide.

Some not-so-good news came from the same Twitter feed - it was confirmed that Xperia X10 hardware does not support multi-touch. Therefore, this functionality will not be made available in the update.

Unfortunately, Sony Ericsson have not provided any information about possible changes in the UI, but it is hoped that users will get some alternative usability features (e.g. zoom with one finger) with the upgrade.
