Two million iPads sold

If you are one of the two million Apple-crazed, tech-loving buyers who have purchased an iPad this month, then you probably know why Apple has been able to maintain it’s high sale rate since the iPad hit the shelves on April 3. But for those of you who are not tech savvy, the iPad is a portable device that provides users with easy access to the Internet and to their favorite social sites in a new, fully interactive way that has never been done before. In short, the iPad is a blast to use, which is why so many people are buying and loving it.

Let’s think about the number of devices sold in the first month – 2 million. Isn’t that some kind of record? Well, the number is large, but Steve Jobs said in a recent quote that people are just experiencing the magic of iPad, and seem to be loving it as much as we (Apple) do. The iPad shipped in Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Germany, Canada, France, Australia, and the UK a few weeks ago, and will be available for sale in nine more countries in July. Even more countries will get the iPad later on this year.

Part of the reason why the iPad has sold so well can definitely be attributed to an international launch. Not many people realise it, but the U.S. is not the only market for niche electronics like this, and most large corporations are taking advantage of the global awakening to electronics, internet communication, and the social networking that is uniting the world over the threads of the Internet.

Apple says that it will strive to make enough iPads for everyone, but so far they have been selling at an unbelievable pace. Would it be too much to assume that at some stage everyone will own an iPad, much like almost everyone owns a mobile phone or a smartphone? Well, that might be a far-fetched notion, but who knows? Right now, everything is working for Apple. The company has been responsible for bringing many revolutions to the computer and communication industry, and the iPad is probably just the next chapter in a long line of successful products. And from the looks of it, Apple don’t event think about slowing down.
