Last week Google reported about the improvements made to the web image search for Apple iPhone (version 3.0+) and devices based on Android 2.1. Firstly, search results will now be accurately aligned to the width of the screen. Secondly, users will be able to scroll pictures to the right or left. And finally, search result screen itself has improved. Below is a video demonstrating the changes on Android 2.1.

I really liked the changes. Picture search is now very intuitive and is similar to browsing the gallery. A larger version of an image opens when you tap on one of the search results. So, if you a lucky owner of Android 2.1 device give new picture search a try.
