Earlier today Motorola officially announced an upgrade of the Milestone smartphone to Android 2.1. The upgrade can be downloaded directly to the phone and installed. The upgrade includes support for animated backgrounds, number of new applications and features, and so called Motorola Car Home interface. It is currently available to the users in France. Upgrades for German, Italian and UK users will be coming in the next few weeks.

There are plenty of Twitter clients available on the Android Market. I have previously reviewed Seesmic, and was quite happy with its functionality and user interface. One of my friends told me about another Twitter client – a program called Twicca. He argued that Twicca is one of the best twitter clients available for Android. So I decided to check it and compare. Earlier this week, at the CTIA WIRELES 2010 exhibition in Las Vegas, Samsung unveiled its new flagship Android smartphone – Samsung Galaxy S. The device has very impressive characteristics (which is expected from a phone of this level) that will enable it to (almost certainly) be one of the most technically advanced Android based smartphones for a few months after the release.

Motorola Droid upgrade to 2.1 delayed

Unfortunately the highly anticipated upgrade of Motorola Droid to Android 2.1 has been delayed. No further details are available at this stage. Hopefully this delay is caused by some small bugs and the upgrade will be deployed in the near future. I will keep you posted.

MobileChurch reports that according to the leaked memo, Motorola Droid will be upgraded to the Android 2.1 on Thursday 18th of March (US time). The upgrades will be rolled out gradually, so it might take few days before everyone gets the new version. But the wait is definately worth it:).
Quick notes for Android

Today I want to have a look at two programs that allow you to quickly create notes. The programs are Magic Marker and DrawNoteK. Neither of these applications allows you to use keyboard to type notes, only drawings are allowed. Basically both programs are very simple drawing editors. Both applications have very similar functionality, the differences are only in some instruments.
