Android Phones and Applications

When you first look at the HTC Legend, it’s easy enough to understand that the smartphone is continuing the tradition of HTC Hero. There are some improvements and differences, but device’s body is really the main change. The brand bend at the bottom of the device is still there, but the material has been changed, it is now a solid piece of aluminum.

Let us once again go through the changes: the screen in HTC Legend has a diagonal of 3.2 inches, the technology has changed, it is now AMOLED, the resolution remains the same (HVGA). “Ball” was replaced with an optical trackball. There is still a button underneath it – time will tell how easy the changed control is. However, it seems to me that the new control will be used as rarely as the “ball” in HTC Hero.
Device runs Android 2.1 with a Sense interface. Few additional changes were made to it. The most interesting among them is the ability to display all  active windows. Another interesting change is a new widget called «Friend Stream». The main purpose of the widget is to alert you about changes in your friend’s status in different services.
