New Android phones from HTC

Posted by Droid January - 26 - 2010 - Tuesday

Great news for the Android community! User Agent Profiles for seven new devices have been added to the HTC website. All seven phones are Android-based. Some of them are brand new; others have already had some details leaked.

Known details include:

HTC Legend – a device with no physical keyboard, 3.2-inch touch-screen AMOLED display, 5-megapixel camera, GPS-receiver, Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g, Bluetooth 2.1, and so on.

HTC Espresso – apparently, is the successor of HTC Dream. The main difference will be the presence of a QWERTY-keyboard on Espresso.

Supersonic – a device with WiMAX network support. It will probably be sold exclusively by Sprint.

Presumably, some of these devices will be presented to the public in Barcelona (Spain) next month at the Mobile World Congress 2010.

Quick facts about the new HTC Android-based handsets:

  • HTC Espresso: QWERTY-keyboard, 320×480 pixel display
  • HTC Huangshan: no physical keyboard, 320×480 pixel display
  • HTC Liberty: no physical keyboard, 320×480 pixel display
  • HTC Halo: a simple version of the Tattoo smartphone with a QWERTY-keyboard
  • HTC Paradise: QWERTY-keyboard, 240×400 pixel display
  • HTC Legend: no physical keyboard, 320×480 pixel display
  • HTC Supersonic: no physical keyboard, 480×800 pixel display
